Our final Hunt Ride of the 2024 summer is an 8 - 10 mile guided ride across the glorious Northamptonshire countryside, with light refreshments afterwards.

A great opportunity for socialising both horses and rides before the start of the season.

For our Opening Meet this season, we are thrilled to announce our opening meet will be held at Grafton Park Farm. This meet is a fantastic start to the season with a selection of lovely hedges and small rails, as well as some larger hedges for those braving it.

All jumps are optional so non-jumpers are very welcome too!

Our meet at Bulwick Hall is kindly hosted by the Conant Family. A lovely traditional meet, with a selection of hunt rails and hedges (1m), but non-jumpers very welcome too. This great galloping meet on old grass allows the field to spread out and view the hounds working, taking you back to when the horse was king.

With great thanks to the Rock Family for hosting us at Burghley House. A change to ride around this beautiful estate is not to be missed.

Trumpington Hall is home of our generous hosts the Pemberton family. The Pemberton family are long term supporters of the Cambridge University Draghounds and it is only with their continuing support that we can enjoy such fabulous days.

This hopes to be a fantastic day, including a good range of hunt rails (90cm ish) but all jumps optional.

We are grateful to the McKim family for kindly hosting us at Thorpeley Irish Draught and Rare Breed Stud, and as we get into the swing of the season this meet promises to be a cracker. Not one for the faint hearted, this meet takes us across the cream of high Leicestershire with enough rails and hedges to satisfy even the most die hard hedge hopper! To enjoy this meet you really need to be comfortable jumping hunt rails.

A New Year’s Day Hound Exercise (1pm move off time), to help blow away the cobwebs before a great few months of meets. Lots of long trots and canters to get all our fitness back ready! No jumping due to ground conditions.

This meet is kindly hosted by Sir Philip Naylor-Leyand, and provides a real mix of country with something for all to enjoy. The most spectacular lines are the last couple - a few empty saddles and contribution to the tumblers club will be found here across the infamous Moonshine Gap hedges!

Owing to the recent wet weather, a hunt is not possible this week. We are grateful to the Grange Family for hosting us for a hound exercise instead. 8-10 miles of walk, trot and canter, to help keep all our fitness ticking over! We hope to see lots of you there. Once again we are delighted to be invited to return to Spring Hall Farm, for our final hound exercise of the season. This will be a fairly brisk pace ready for opening meet the following week. For the second time this season, we are grateful to the McKim family for kindly hosting us at Thorpeley Irish Draught and Rare Breed Stud. Not one for the faint hearted, this meet takes us across the cream of high Leicestershire with enough rails and hedges to satisfy even the most die hard hedge hopper! To enjoy this meet you really need to be comfortable jumping hunt rails.

Thank you to the Wright family for hosting us at Hermitage Farm. This meet will feature some jumping (all optional) and is ideal for newcomers.

A gentle return for both hounds and horses, approximately 1 hour and a half will a few small optional jumps (2’9”) and a chance for a good canter to blow away those lockdown blues.
